So stay connected! Follow us on our Social Media streams, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter and soon we'll be posting short YouTube videos on creating effective job search materials, specific to your field of interest or the industry you're working in.

Every client is unique in their journey, background, skill set, and goals, therefore your resume and job search materials should highlight your uniqueness and difference. Therefore, your resume shouldn't look, feel or sound like the other 250+ resumes a hiring manager receives.
We work with our clients to identify and emphasize their unique offering to the organization they're applying to. We do these through our very own Divine Class Consulting assessments. You never know how many hidden skills you actually have, that can maximize your chances of landing your interview! We help you identify them. Cool right!?
But we don't leave you there. Remember we're with you for the whole 9 yards. We'll coach you through your interview, prep you with potential questions etc; depending on the role applied for, we may even do role play! :-) Among other dreaded formats; but after we're through...you'll be confident and prepared to showcase your added value to the company or organization.
Ok, so we've spoken a little about how we work; so here's a couple tips for you. See! This Blog is already giving you realistic tips you can start to incorporate TODAY! So share, like, print, take a picture or forward it to someone you know who could really use some help. We love them too!
The Anticipated First Impression Test
So first things first. Your first impression. You have no idea who's opening, reading or checking your resume, (unless you're a friend who knows the boss and maybe go to the same sports or social club!) So don't assume anything!
What I mean by that is more information is better than NO information. Now, please don't use this out of context; read on so I can explain my point. For example, in your work experience you've listed the name of the company, check. Your role title, check. The duties; check. Have you noticed anything missing? Most people don't include the city! Listen, this can be a great oversight, but it leaves a furrow on the hiring managers face, of "where was this?".
We all know location, location, location is important. Well, that real estate reference applies here too.
We live in a time where people migrate, move cities and provinces or state...often. It's not uncommon anymore. So don't assume the organization knows which cities you've worked in, simply because you're applying to a position listed in XXX city. Be clear! don't leave questions like that in the employers mind. The only question that they should have is... "When can we interview him/her?".
In the majority of cases, your resume is your only chance to leave a great, impressive first impression. Once that chance is gone... It's gone!

Research shows that your window for that first impression is 6 seconds!!
You have to capture the employer's attention within 6 seconds to encourage them to read and review your skills and what you can bring to the organization. Use those 6 seconds very wisely!
Check Your Attitude!
That's your first tip! Your second tip is focused on your attitude, no... not in the interview, still regarding your resume. Have you ever received a text from a friend, desperate for $20? Or a spouse who's angry at you? Ok, we all have right? you can sense the tone of their voice in the text message. The same goes for your resume!
Honestly guys, employers can tell if you're desperate, serious, confident, lazy, yes... lazy. Your tone should be strong, confident and empowering. The person reading your resume should think, wow! I have to meet with this person. After reading, they should think as though you'll be an invaluable asset to the company. No joke guys #StaySerious.

You have permission to flaunt your assets and best qualities on your resume, it's
probably the only place you're encouraged to "flaunt it". Seriously speaking, use your skills, knowledge of the industry, and experiences to highlight your strengths.
Now there's a fine balance between listing all the skills you've learned since being able to stand without falling, and highlighting those skills specific to the job requirement applied for, be strategic in the purpose of each highlighted skill.
Hopefully, those two tips will help you with your own job search; incorporate these tips and you'll get a little closer to being more impactful. Stay updated with our tips that can help you land your job! #StaySerious. Share with us on our Facebook page, how and if these tips helped you! We'd love to hear!
